The purpose of the VIPRG research committees is to empanel a multidisciplinary and international research team that contributes to building the standard on virtual instructor and pedagogical agent architecture. There are three main VIPRG Research Committees under which several sub-committees fall including:

• VIPRG Technical Committee,
• VIPRG Human Behavior, Instruction, learning, and Policy Committee,
• VIPRG Computational Cognition Committee.
